no, she's not insulting the Philippines. She's just scared and is making sure she won't get hurt or be kidnapped. We can't blame her if that's the news she is getting and it's a fact. But what she don't know is, she's not a likely target unless she belonged to a high profile.

i think the one who asked that had her rights to ask this question so that she'd have the idea that ph is a safe place..maybe the americans would also do the same of what you did if i ask if it is safe to go to NYC where in passenger planes struck buildings and land marks.

her question is sincere and i don't think she intends to imply something bad about our country. She is ignorant i should say and needs to be informed, that's all there is to it

LOL... Might be this people thinks that Philippines new name now is "Mindanao". I think she is a Filipina, for she stated that her mother lived somewhere in an island in Luzon. Bad images and feedback was being thrown to us.

I lived here in Mindanao since birth, that is 31 years and worst of it, my city experience more than 10 bombings since year 2000. But still i can see lots of foreigner coming in.

Well, sorry for them cause Mindanao was still part of the Philippines. They better stay in the US, if they don't want any trouble...

    Edit:
    You mean this one:

"no it is not safe!!! you can get deseases and get exposed to viruses. philippines is rat and cockroach infested. this is due to unsanitary filipinos. not to mention philippines is so stinky anywhere you go"

Must be another Clare Danes copycat insults....

    Edit:
I think we will invite her here, and let her feel how vicious our rats and cockroaches...

it is an insult... She's calling us unsanitary and trying to stereo type filipinos. I do agree though, that philippines is infested with cockroaches and rats (I've lived there for 7 years and visited last summer). Unsanitary filipinos live in the bukid area... most people that live in the upper class areas (for ex: Palmas) are pretty sanitary. She has no right to call us that... and also it is an insult that she says our country will give her and her children all kinds of diseases. I'd slap her in the face if she said that to me up front.

I did not find it insulting. She has some valid concerns because she has not been to the Philippines yet. She did not know that what she's talking talking about are some isolated cases in the past.

If someone will really insult the country, I will try to defend it with all my might.

    Cheers.

i know it's NOT the asker that you're talking about. i know it's that "blond answerer" whose bark is louder than the size of her brain. i already did what i had to do. yahoo had given us the right to report objectionable answers. i enjoin everyone to do the same thing.

You are right that Luv_chylds answer certainly is uncalled for. I mean what country doesn't have cockroaches--even clean and sanitary hospitals have them. y
