I was gonna say Yosemite
but since you said city and no camping how about San Francisco.Theres tons to do here for all ages monterey is only an hour and a half away for a scenic place as well great aquarium,Santa cruz(boardwalk) is close, scenic gardens all around actually California has so much both north and south from wine tasting to Zoo's and water parks. |

you could find a cute bed and breakfast to stay at and then travel around the town.
this isnt exctally in the US but you could take a cruise, they have activities for people of all ages. you could take a trip to new yourk city and see niagra falls alot of national parks have cabins or hotels you could stay at instead of camping like yellowstone, the grand canyon, mount rainier, arches. you could see the montere skyline in california you could stay in a cabin on a lake and rent a jet ski or a boat hope these ideas help or atleast get you thinkng about other ideas. have fun this summer!! |

I really like San Antonio. It has a Sea World and a Six Flags. Also, the whole Riverwalk area is really nice. There's a big mall right there and lots of great food. It's also a great place to just hang out and do nothing.
If you go, I recommend staying on or very near the Riverwalk. You can just drive to the other stuff. The last time I went, I stayed at the Hampton Inn by the Riverwalk. It's very clean, has a great staff, and offers a free hot breakfast. It also offers free parking, which is a huge plus in the Riverwalk area. |

I'd like to mount a campaign to encourage people not to go anywhere. Travel has become so expensive and unpleasant that it's hard to understand why people don't stay home.
Why are we crowding our highways and airports to get someplace else? Newspapers and magazines are filled with ads trying to get us to travel. They want us to go somewhere - anywhere but home!!!! |
