So I guess camping is kind of out of the question. I'd say somewhere like orlando fl. there is a ton of theme parks there for all ages and its a great sunny close to the ocean place

If you are into amusement parks:

Sandusky Ohio has Cedar Point and its on one of the Great Lakes
    Theres always Disney Land/World

Texas sounds fun though. Arizona and Vermont... surprisingly are really fun places to go! I went when I was little and had a blast!
North Carolina and South Carolina have the beaches and lots of other family stuff to do. Florida has EVERYTHING. Along with Cali. Good luck have fun

Rapid City, South Dakota. There you have Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, the Black Hills(go on the chuck wagon ride and have dinner). It's close to Sturgis, where the Motorcycles have their yearly thing. Also not far from Devil's Tower...awesome sight, you get to see prairie dogs on the way to the tower. Oh, and Deadwood is near Sturgis. All about gambling and the wild west(kids will like it too). Make sure you go to the Mt. Moria cemetery while in Deadwood. While out that way, you have to go to Wall! It's a great little place right on the edge of the Badlands. All this is just a car drive away from Rapid City.

Yellowstone National Park. I have been going there since I was young (around 5 or so as well). Everything from the wildlife, scenery and geysers is something the whole family can enjoy.

Honolulu, Hawaii - you've got everything - big city with lots to do, water sports, surfing, shopping, fine dining, museums, beautiful scenery, sailing, Luaus, surfing, hiking

Chicago, IL - again - big city, Six Flags near by, VERY good shopping, great and cheap transit system, beautiful downtown area, nice suburbs with sweet attractions, great museums, good concerts ESPECIALLY in August - there's Lollapalooza (huge concert with lots of really good bands)

Minneapolis , MN - Mall of America
http://www.mallofamerica.com/ They have Nikelodean Universe which is really just a big amusement park inside the mall, your sis will love it!, again, big city with lots of things to do, museums, cheap transit system, great food

Have fun. I wish I could go on vacation :P

Pretty much anywhere in Virginia would be good - they have alot to offer - beaches, mountains, historic places, outdoor places, parks, etc. - you could probably visit Gettysburg, PA and Washington, DC all in that trip too - Try www.virginia.org

Maybe go out west to Wyoming and see the Tetons or Yellowstone and Jackson Hole.

Colorado is a great option too - I loved visiting Denver, Colorado Springs & Aspen, it offered alot of choices of things to do from shopping, to museums, outdoor activities like rafting and horseback riding.

The North GA Mountains of Blue Ridge is a great vacation destination. Loads to see and do for all ages. Your 5 year old sister would probably love the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway where you can take a 3.5 hour train ride through the mountains and along the river. It stops in TN for a short time where you can grab a bite to eat or an ice cream. Tubing along the Toccoa River is always fun too! Other activities include:

Ocoee River - White Water Rafting, Kayaking
Lake Blue Ridge and Lake Nottely - swimming, fishing, picnics
    Toccoa River - tubing, fishing
Blue Ridge Marina - jet ski and boat rentals
Aska Adventure Wilderness Area - hiking and biking
    Horesback riding, golf, sightseeing, waterfalls

    LODGING:
I have a Beautiful Luxury Mountain Cabin Rental (instead of a small cramped hotel room). Ammenities include:

    *3 bdrms, 3 bath, 3 fireplaces, 3 levels
*Year Round Mountain Views from all 3 levels
*Romantic Setting on Screen Porch with HOT TUB & Fireplace
*All Wood Lodge Interior, Log Furniture & Decor throughout!
*GAEM ROOM - Cedar Top Wet Bar, Pool Table, Poker Table, Custom Made Log Checker Board Table, 2 full size futons, fireplace & incredible mountain views!
    *4 TV's - Satellite TV/DVD
*Fully Equipped Kitchen, Gas Grill, Washer/Dryer
    *All linens provided

I'd love for you to check out my website!
