How many people's travel plans have been changed or canceled due to rising gasoline costs in the U.S.? If you made changes what have you made to lower your cost?

It's definitely going to affect my honeymoon. We're driving cross-country and the gas will cost more than all the hotels and the car rental combined.

It will absolutely affect summer vacations for everyone. Think about it. An airline is going to charge more for the tickets because of the rising gas prices. I was comparing prices from my vacation at the end of last year and in only 6 months the price of an average domestic flight to Florida has increased by $40.

Even if I were to take a road trip, you would still feel it. No matter whether if you drive a Hybrid or not your pocket is going to still be empty.

The prices for public transportation has increased also. I used to pay $30 for a round trip ticket to go to a musical in NYC. Now they have gone up to $46.

So as far as this summer's vacation, I think we're going to make it as far as Delaware. I hope this helps.

Due to gas prices ,I'd like to mount a campaign to encourage people not to go anywhere. Travel has become so expensive and unpleasant that it's hard to understand why people don't stay home.
Why are we crowding our highways and airports to get someplace else? Newspapers and magazines are filled with ads trying to get us to travel. They want us to go somewhere - anywhere but home.
